Overview

Supervisors are the roots that sustain the next generation of counselors.
As part of this year’s LPCA Convention theme — “Many Trees Make a Forest: Unity in Counseling” — the CPCS Renewal Track honors that role by offering advanced training designed specifically for Certified Professional Counselor Supervisors seeking renewal or continued professional growth.

This specialized track provides practical, ethics-based, and clinically relevant continuing education for current CPCS credential holders and those preparing to renew their status with the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.

  • Supervisors-in-training completing CPCS requirements

Overview

Just as many trees make a forest, many students make the future of counseling.
The LPCA Student Ambassador Program embodies the spirit of this year’s convention theme — “Many Trees Make a Forest: Unity in Counseling.” Each student who steps forward to serve as an ambassador strengthens the foundation of our profession and helps cultivate a thriving, interconnected community of counselors across Georgia.

Student Ambassadors are emerging leaders who bridge the gap between LPCA and counseling programs throughout the state. They promote professional unity, share valuable resources, and represent the next generation of licensed professional counselors. Together, they form a living network of collaboration, advocacy, and growth — the forest that shapes the future of mental health in Georgia.


Purpose

The LPCA Student Ambassador Program was created to:

  • Promote unity in counseling by connecting students across Georgia’s universities and graduate programs.

  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills in the next generation of counselors.

  • Encourage student engagement in LPCA initiatives, legislation, and professional service.

  • Build mentorship pipelines linking students with licensed professionals and LPC leaders.


Ambassador Role

As an LPCA Student Ambassador, you will:

  • Represent your college or university at LPCA events, meetings, and the Annual Convention.

  • Promote LPCA membership and involvement among peers and faculty.

  • Share updates and opportunities such as scholarships, CE events, advocacy initiatives, and LPC Week activities.

  • Support LPCA events and projects, including conference outreach and district workshops.

  • Attend monthly virtual ambassador meetings to collaborate, plan, and grow as leaders.

  • Serve as a liaison and role model for the counseling student community.


Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a CACREP or state-approved master’s or doctoral counseling program in Georgia.

  • Hold an active LPCA student membership (or obtain one upon selection).

  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for advancing the counseling profession.

  • Obtain a faculty endorsement or recommendation from your program.
