Each year, hundreds of counselors, supervisors, students, and mental health advocates gather for four days of inspiration, education, and connection. Overview

Supervisors are the roots that sustain the next generation of counselors.
As part of this year’s LPCA Convention theme — “Many Trees Make a Forest: Unity in Counseling” — the CPCS Renewal Track honors that role by offering advanced training designed specifically for Certified Professional Counselor Supervisors seeking renewal or continued professional growth.

This specialized track provides practical, ethics-based, and clinically relevant continuing education for current CPCS credential holders and those preparing to renew their status with the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.

• Current CPCS credential holders seeking renewal hours

• Supervisors-in-training completing CPCS requirements

• Experienced supervisors wishing to strengthen their documentation, ethics, and supervision models

• Provide targeted CE hours that meet CPCS renewal requirements

Get ready for the most valuable student volunteer role you’ll ever list on your résumé. As an LPCA Student Ambassador, you’re stepping into the heart of the Annual Convention, where you’ll network with LPCs from all over Georgia and surrounding states, meet expert speakers, attend workshops for free, and gain direct exposure to the clinical world you’ll soon join. You’re not just helping with sessions; you’re positioning yourself for mentorship, future supervision, and career-changing connections. This is your chance to be seen, be involved, and be part of something big.

Your Role in the Convention’s Success

As a Student Ambassador, you play a key part in creating a smooth, enjoyable, and professional experience for attendees and presenters. Your support helps workshops run on time, ensures everyone gets their CE credit, and makes guests feel welcomed and supported. The duties are simple, clear, and we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared before your first session.

Below is an overview of what you’ll be assisting with.

What You Will Do As A Student Ambassador:

Welcome and Check In Attendees
You will be one of the first faces people see when they arrive for a workshop. You will greet them, help them get checked in using the convention app, and set a friendly, professional tone for the session.

Help Sessions Start Strong
You will help the room settle in, share a few short reminders, and make sure the speaker has what they need before they begin. Your presence helps every session feel organized, calm, and ready to go.

Support and Introduce Speakers
You may introduce the speaker using a short bio, help with simple things like handing out materials, and be the person they know they can turn to if they need something during the session.

Be the Go-To Person in the Room
Throughout the workshop, you will be the steady, helpful presence. If attendees have questions, need directions, or are unsure where to go next, you are the one who can guide them and keep things moving.

Close Out Sessions with Appreciation
At the end of the workshop, you will help wrap things up by thanking the speaker, sharing any final reminders, and helping attendees transition smoothly to their next event.

Stay Connected with the LPCA Team
After your session, you will bring your packet and any materials back to the LPCA office, check in with staff, and get ready for your next assignment. You are part of a coordinated team, not on your own.

Why This Experience Matters For You

Serving as a Student Ambassador gives you more than a title. You will build real relationships with LPCs, supervisors, and leaders who may one day review your application, offer you a practicum site, or become your supervisor. You will practice being professional in a live setting, gain confidence speaking in front of groups, and collect stories and experiences you can talk about in interviews.

You will also attend high quality workshops at no cost, see how seasoned clinicians think and work, and walk away with a stronger résumé that shows leadership, initiative, and involvement in your professional community.

If you want to grow, to be in the rooms where things are happening, and to be seen as a future colleague rather than “just a student,” the Student Ambassador role is an ideal next step.

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

• Be enrolled in a CACREP or state-approved master’s or doctoral counseling program in Georgia.

• Hold an active LPCA student membership (or obtain one upon selection).

• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for advancing the counseling profession.
