About the Course Instructor:

Dr. Johnnie L Jenkins, III Ph.D., LPC, CPCS, ACS, RPT-S

Dr. Johnnie L. Jenkins currently serves as a Team Lead for Grady Health System’s Project Arrow program. He earned his PhD in Public Policy in 2022 and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1999. In addition, he is a Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor (since 2011) and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.


Dr. Jenkins brings extensive clinical, supervisory, and teaching experience to his work. His professional background includes serving as a counselor at Morehouse School of Medicine, conducting crisis evaluations for hospitals and Community Service Boards (CSBs), and operating a private practice, The Jenkins Center.


A seasoned educator, Dr. Jenkins regularly lectures on Play Therapy, legislative advocacy for counselors, and provides exam preparation training for the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) and the National Counselor Examination (NCE).


His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Mercer University (Macon, GA), a Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialty in Counseling from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, and both a Master of Philosophy and PhD in Public Policy from Walden University.
